Office Assistant

JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized professional for an Office Assistant role in Amherst. This role involves reviewing purchase and travel requests, managing office oversight, and supervising student staff. The ideal candidate will bring strong customer service skills, the ability to balance multiple priorities, and confidence in applying policies and procedures to ensure smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and categorize purchase and travel requests from student organizations, ensuring compliance and routing appropriately.
  • Monitor scheduled appointments and action items to support office operations.
  • Provide in-person supervision of student staff.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the office and manage the office credit card fleet.

Required Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities; prior office-based service experience is a plus.
  • Skilled at handling multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and follow established processes and policies.
  • Leadership experience, especially in balancing busy and slower periods.

Desired Skills

  • Background with Salesforce or similar systems.
  • Familiarity with higher education purchasing or financial policies.
  • Previous experience directing or mentoring student employees.
